Dr. Jessica Twardowski-Deskin is a post-doctoral therapist who has experience treating children, adolescents, families, and adults from diverse backgrounds with a wide range of presenting concerns. Dr. Twardowski-Deskin specializes in treating individuals who struggle with mood and anxiety disorders, eating disorder issues, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, behavioral concerns, school issues, and interpersonal relationship challenges. She also has experience working with new and expectant mothers. She is passionate about helping people improve their self-confidence, overcome difficulties, and live a more value-driven and authentic life.
Dr. Twardowski-Deskin has received training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy. Her approach integrates cognitive-behavioral approaches and mindfulness and believes in the importance of living according to one’s values. This approach focuses on developing a new and compassionate relationship with oneself while learning to live in the present moment. Dr. Twardowski-Deskin uses a collaborative treatment approach emphasizing the importance of being heard.
Dr. Twardowski-Deskin completed her clinical internship at Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center where she was part of the general outpatient clinic, Adolescent Intensive Outpatient Program and the OB-GYN Clinic. She has worked in a variety of settings including community mental health, hospitals, residential treatment centers, partial hospitalization programs, and intensive outpatient treatment centers. Dr. Twardowski-Deskin is fluent in Polish.
