Dr. Whitney Smith is a licensed clinical psychologist who contracts with the Chicago Center for Growth and Change to provide therapy services. She has several years of training and experience working with children, adolescents, adults, couples and families from diverse backgrounds. Dr. Smith has an interest and experience in the treatment of mood and anxiety disorders. She also has training and experience in incorporating DBT skills into individual therapy. She is dedicated to helping individuals identify and overcome the barriers impacting their personal, relational, professional and emotional growth.
While at Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center, Dr. Smith was part of the specialized consult liaison team providing therapeutic services for the medical floors and she also provided crisis intakes. Additionally, Dr. Smith supervised and trained psychology doctoral students and medical residents.
Dr. Smith has worked in various settings including outpatient clinics, hospitals,community mental health centers, schools, and college counseling centers.
